Mother's Day 2015

It seems like some people think Mother’s Day is for moms with kids already running around, but thankfully, many people recognized that once you conceive a kid, you’re a mom as far as I’m concerned.

Carrying around Baby B, I feel the weight of motherhood (and no, I’m not just talking about the 20 pounds I’ve gained).  I’m already caring for him even though he’s not out here with all of us just yet by making decisions that affect him, worrying about him, making sure he’s healthy, protecting him from harm.  All things that make you a mom.  I guess too, having my 4 other boys helps me feel maternal as well.  Baby B is the most important kid I have of course, but his furry brothers have helped me understand the responsibility of caring for another life.  Their insanity has in no small way prepared me for some of the responsibility that having a real child will undoubtedly entail.

My 5 boys...
Mother’s Day started on Friday for me when my hubs brought home a gorgeous bouquet of flowers for me to start the weekend.  The next day, my sister sent a bouquet which was so sweet and unexpected!  Then Sunday we went to brunch with my parents where I got a few goodies like a little necklace with Baby B’s birthstone (peridot) and a Nordy’s gift card from my husband.

Flowers from my sister!
Incidentally, my husband also bought himself a well-deserved new car Sunday, so HIS mother’s day was even more fun than mine.  But I’m so happy we have another great, safe ride for Baby B to zip around in once he’s here.
